Media Research Center President David Bozell joined The National News Desk Monday morning to discuss a recent MRC Special Report on Apple and Google News bias. The MRC found that these outlets hid at least 104 stories about Abdul El-Sayed’s corruption from the Top 20 spots on their morning news feeds.
Bozell indicated that this shielding of El-Sayed from the spotlight is significant, stating:
These entities are at the point of entry on the devices we check 200 times a day. If you have an iPhone, you've got Apple News preloaded. If you have an Android, you've got Google News preloaded. And if you're on a desktop computer, you've got MSN preloaded.
Each of the aforementioned shielded stories should have harmed El-Sayed’s campaign. They mentioned his misleading claim of being a physician, his antisemitic campaign worker, or other flagrant instances of deceit and corruption. The deck is stacked: the biggest news aggregators exclusively spotlight left-leaning stories. It’s an undeniable pattern.

As Bozell explained, audiences have veered away from consuming left-wing propaganda from outlets like CNN, NPR, and The New York Times. However, they are continually force-fed stories from those very same outlets through the leftist news aggregators built into their tech. Bozell notes that every morning, the MRC records the Top 20 news headlines from Apple News, Google News, Yahoo News and MSN; the results prove that 70–75% of that news is left-leaning.

In order to resolve their glaring news imbalance, these aggregators must begin sourcing stories from the “emerging center and right-wing digital news ecosystem,” Bozell states.
