In its most recent display of absurdity, Twitter has suspended the Nation of Islam, but not for its history of racism against white people or anti-Semitism.

Twitter suspended the Nation of Islam’s account reportedly after it criticized COVID-19 vaccines. Meanwhile, the unverified account that appears to belong to Louis Farrakhan, the leader of the Nation of Islam, is still active on the platform. The account contains multiple pieces of disgustingly anti-Semitic and racist content.

Twitter, of course, has refused to allow anything it deems to be misinformation about COVID-19 or its vaccines on the platform. The Jerusalem Post reported that the suspension “seems to have been over the account's criticism of mRNA vaccines, which are used by companies like Moderna and Pfizer to combat COVID-19, according to the Electronic Urban Report news outlet.”

Meanwhile, Twitter has taken little action against Farrakhan’s anti-Semitic content as it remained on the platform for years. The account said in 2014: “The Satanic Jews that control everything and mostly everybody: If they are your enemy, then you must be somebody.” The Farrakhan account has also said, “The Satanic Jews and their allies fear being exposed and that is the role of the Messiah, to reveal the Man of Sin.”

The Farrakhan account has also spewed conspiracy theories about the Jewish people on Twitter. The account tweeted: “The FBI has been the worst enemy of Black advancement. The Jews have control over those agencies of government.”

The Farrakhan account has also tweeted racist remarks against white people. For example, the account said, “The White man’s own evil has brought him to a place of utter confusion.” The account has also tweeted a graphic that stated, “Brothers and sisters, you never were in Africa what you have become today. You are not yourself; you’re a White person in Black skin. That is why it is so easy for you to kill your brother, lie on your sister, rape your daughter. It’s easy for you to do those foul things to yourself and to one another because the enemy has made us into himself.”

Apparently, none of the Farrakhan account’s posts constituted a bannable offense, according to Twitter. Meanwhile, it censored Trump 625 times between May 31, 2018, and Jan. 4, 2021, before he was kicked off the platform. Twitter banned Trump after he called for “peace” following the riot at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. The company has since refused to allow him back.
