The radical leftist bias of Amazon’s employees is on full display once again as they reportedly protest a book that they disagree with politically.
Hundreds of Amazon employees have signed a petition, and two have reportedly “resigned” over the sale of a book on Amazon that challenges the woke left’s seemingly mandated views on gender identity. NBC News reported that Amazon’s employees “say [the book] frames young people who identify as transgender as mentally ill.” Notably, the author “denies that her book frames LGBTQ identities as a form of mental illness.”
The petition gained a tiny fraction of support within the company amid the company’s “1.3 million” employees. “The resignations come after a complaint posted to the company’s internal message board in April drew the support of over 467 Amazon corporate employees, according to a copy obtained by NBC News,” NBC reported. The news outlet continued: “The employee-led petition calls for the removal of the book ‘Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters,’ by Abigail Shrier.”
The description for “Irreversible Damage” on Amazon claimed that the book “will help you understand what the trans craze is and how you can inoculate your child against it—or how to retrieve her from this dangerous path.”
Employees reportedly whined that the book violated Amazon policy. “The complaint by workers points to a decision Amazon shared with Republican senators in March that claims it had ‘chosen not to sell books that frame LGBTQ+ identity as a mental illness,’” said NBC.
The complaint from Amazon employees over the book makes the company’s leftist bias all the more obvious. Employees at Amazon did not protest the at least 270 hateful items for sale on the website. They did not protest the removal of a documentary about Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas during Black History Month on Prime Video. And they did not protest the removal of conservative organizations like Family Research Council and Alliance Defending Freedom from Amazon’s charity program, AmazonSmile. Meanwhile, an investigation from MRC Free Speech America found that Planned Parenthood, Black Lives Matter and The Satanic Temple are all free to collect donations from the program.
Conservatives are under attack.
