After a new artificial intelligence partnership goes through, even Apple products will not be safe from Google’s leftist bent.

In a joint Jan. 12 statement, the two Big Tech giants announced a landmark “multi-year collaboration under which the next generation of Apple Foundation Models will be based on Google's Gemini models and cloud technology.” Google’s Gemini, however, is one of the most anti-free speech and biased AI products, and now thanks to this new partnership the same bias could be embedded in Apple AI products.

Apple and Google added in the joint statement, “These models will help power future Apple Intelligence features, including a more personalized Siri coming this year.” Apple Foundation Models will now be based on Google AI technology.

While Apple allegedly could tweak how Google’s biases impact its products, the partnership could be bad news for free speech advocates, given both companies’ leftist track record. For example, the very first Gemini model generated female popes and historically inaccurate images of America’s Founding Fathers as black men and women. In April 2024, Gemini generated justification for censorship of alleged climate misinformation. And just before Independence Day, Gemini told MRC researchers that the patriotic holiday could be “offensive.”

That same anti-free speech, leftist bias extends to other Google and Apple products, including their news aggregation apps. For example, for the entire month of December 2025, Apple News did not link to a single article from a right-leaning media outlet in its top 20 stories at 10 a.m.

Most recently, on Jan. 13 and 14 — the days following the tech giants’ partnership announcement — MRC researchers found that Apple News and Google News both promoted a claim of mass resignations at the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division over an ICE shooting. Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon labeled the report “bogus.” Even after her refutation, Apple News continued to promote the story Wednesday morning.

Similarly, For the six weeks between Nov. 28, 2025, and Jan. 9, Google News actively suppressed articles about the alleged massive welfare fraud in Minnesota that convinced disgraced Gov. Tim Walz (D) not to run for reelection. The digital gatekeeper included only four stories on the scandal in its top 20 articles at 10 a.m. for those six weeks.
