In a tweet just after midnight Thursday, former MSNBC host and longtime leftist troll Keith Olbermann reneged on his denunciation from just last week of cancel culture and joined the liberal media mob's push to censor Fox News Channel host Tucker Carlson for having dared to criticize New York Times tech reporter Taylor Lorenz as a “deeply unhappy narcissist.”
Olbermann also invoked Federalist co-founder Sean Davis in said tweet as he was a guest on Wednesday's show as Carlson responded to The Times's attack on his original segment: “It is past time for @twitter to ban @TuckerCarlson and @seanmdav. They are perpetrating stochastic Terrorism on video here - they deserve no access to this platform.”
Let this be the latest example of how liberals not only hate being criticized, but they'll stop at nothing to silence those that dare to disagree with what they say.
Carlson interviewed Davis about the Lorenz controversy and, as Fox News observed, she has been widely criticized for having “a reputation as a 'tattletale journalist’ among critics.”
In turn, The Times condemned Carlson for having the audacity to criticize Lorenz’s tactics. Carlson replied: "Journalists make their living trying to destroy your life but if you say a single word about it, you're a criminal, a moral monster." Carlson commented that "[w]e were embarrassed for Taylor Lorenz, she spends her entire life on the internet, so of course after a while you become a deeply unhappy narcissist. That's what the internet does to people.”
Carlson had commented with apparent shock in a March 9 interview at rumors of how Lorenz has made a viable career as a professional Cancel Culture vulture: “I know that she had reached out personally to the daughter, the 15-year-old daughter, of a former Trump administration official and spoke to her personally without talking to her parents first. I didn't even know that was legal. You're telling me she's done it with other children?”
Davis agreed with Carlson, and revealed another damning allegation: “Now, now, remember, this is a reporter or a journalist, whatever you want to call her, who doxxed the children of a free speech activist who was literally targeted for assassination by ISIS in Garland, Texas.” Lorenz famously went out of her way to reveal two young Instagram stars were the daughters of conservative activist Pamela Gellar.
Lorenz has been well known for a brand of journalism some like journalist Glenn Greenwald called “an unholy mix of junior high hall-monitor tattling and Stasi-like citizen surveillance.”
Lorenz’s recent claims that public criticism have destroyed her life in turn have been met with mockery. “For international women’s day please consider supporting women enduring online harassment,” she tweeted March 9. “It’s not an exaggeration to say that the harassment and smear campaign I’ve had to endure over the past year has destroyed my life. No one should have to go through this.” An interstitial explained that Lorenz used a function of Twitter to restrict who could reply to her post: “Who can reply? People @TaylorLorenz mentioned can reply.”
Lorenz faced recent public disgrace “for erroneously claiming that entrep[r]eneur Marc Andreessen had used incendiary language during a chatroom discussion on the social media app Clubhouse,” Fox News illustrated.”
