Soros-funded Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison appeared to celebrate a Brazilian censorship campaign, which culminated in the ban of an entire social media platform.

Ellison wrote “obrigado Brasil!” — which means “thank you, Brazil” in Portuguese” in a Sept. 2 post on X. That same day, Brazil’s Supreme Court upheld a decision shutting down X’s operations in Brazil. This order includes thousands of dollars in draconian daily fines for anyone using a VPN to access the platform.

Ellison’s apparent celebration of this severe attack on free speech reflects his political agenda. As one of 126 prosecutors financially backed by leftist billionaire George Soros, Ellison has shown blatant disregard for American values such as freedom of speech. A bombshell Media Research Center report revealed that these prosecutors have colluded with Soros-funded groups to censor speech.

One such organization, the Prosecutors Alliance of California, pushed for a radical police censorship bill that would have mandated elected prosecutors accepting campaign contributions from organizations supporting law enforcement (including unions) relinquish their authority to prosecute police officers.

Had the censorship bill been enacted, it would have restricted police from using their funds for political advocacy in the face of the vicious propaganda against them. The Prosecutors Alliance of California, along with Fair and Just Prosecution, another Soros-funded organization, continued to lobby for this bill.

When the bill failed, the Prosecutors Alliance of California pressured the California State Bar to impose speech restrictions. Several high-profile district attorneys are or were members of this Soros-funded alliance, including former San Francisco DA Chesa Boudin, Los Angeles County DA George Gascón, former Contra Costa County DA Diana Becton and former San Joaquin County DA Tori Verber Salazar.

Ellison’s apparent similar contempt for Brazil’s free speech drew condemnation across X.  The Federalist Editor-in-Chief Mollie Hemmingway wrote, “Tim Walz's attorney general in Minnesota -- Keith Ellison -- thanks Brasil for crushing free speech platform X.”

In response to Ellison’s post, X owner Elon Musk blasted Ellison’s political party, writing, “The Democratic Party – same one that used to defend the First Amendment –now wants to destroy the First Amendment.”
