Instagram temporarily suppresses content featuring #XX from appearing in search results: An X user shared a screenshot showing that Instagram censored content that included #XX, a reference to the female chromosomes. When a user searched for #xx, the platform returned no results. On Facebook, another platform also owned by Meta, the same search returned an error that said "Keeping our community safe. Posts with #xx are temporarily hidden here. Some content in those posts goes against our Community Standards." There was no similar suppression of #XY on either platform.
