Facebook censors user for a Jeffery Dahmer joke meme: A Twitter user explained that he posted a joke meme on Facebook just before Thanksgiving 2020, and Facebook punished him for it nearly two years later. With many governors and mayors across the country telling their constituents that they must limit their Thanksgiving gatherings because of the threat of COVID-19, there was some pushback. The user posted a meme about these regulations. It featured a photo of infamous serial killer and cannibal Jeffery Dahmer, with text that read: "No one's going to tell me how many people I can have for Thanksgiving dinner." In September of 2022 the user was informed by Facebook that this meme violated its community standards. Facebook removed the post from his timeline and suspended the user from commenting or posting for 24 hours. The user was also prevented from advertising or going live for 60 days.
