Facebook removed Maajid Nawaz's post contradicting UK COVID advice: Leading Britain's Conversation commentator Maajid Nawaz posted a picture of a text he received from the UK National Health Service along with a brief rebuttal. The text he received, according to screenshots he tweeted, read "GET BOOSTED NOW[.] Every adult over 18 needs a COVID-19 booster vaccine to protect against Omicron. Get your COVID-19 vaccine or booster. See NHS website for details." Nawaz said he responded on Facebook saying "I just got this government text message sent to every UK mobile number. 1) It is FALSE marketing. Every adult over 18 does not 'need' a booster, as for most non-vulnerable adults Omicron will be like a cold 2) the booster does not 'protect' against Omicron beyond 10 weeks." Facebook removed the post and restricted Nawaz's account for 3 days because it "[went] against [its] standards on misinformation that could cause physical harm," according to his screenshot.
