Facebook censors user for saying that someone he knew would kill fake flowers: A Twitter user shared screenshots showing a discussion he was involved in, and a resulting censorship notice. The users involved were discussing the inability to keep hardy plants alive, such as a succulent or cactus. Another user stated that is why they even "plant" fake flowers. The user responded that someone he knew "would still kill them," obviously referring to the fake flowers, in context. However, Facebook does not seem to care about context. It deleted the comment and censored the user for the comment, though the notice did not say which standard was violated. After an appeal, Facebook cited Oversight Board Reference ID FB-8LATYX62 in saying that the comment does not follow the community standards and the punishment stood. It is becoming abundantly clear that actual humans are not reviewing appeals.
