Facebook censors user's comment about the state of politics in Washington, D.C. amid the ongoing attempt to elect a new Speaker of the House: A Twitter user shared a screenshot of his Facebook censorship notice. He had posted "I'm ok with it. Every second those assholes are in session your freedoms are at risk. Close the whole thing down, make them go home, burn Washington DC to the ground and dump salt on the ashes." This was in relation to the attempt to elect a new Speaker of the House of Representatives. Facebook's AI algorithm failed to pick up on the fact that this was a statement on the state of politics in our country, rather than an actual statement of "violence and incitement." The user's comment was deleted as a result.
