PayPal puts a 180 day hold on flag carving business account allegedly without explanation: PayPal has placed a 180 day "reserve hold" on James and Ginger Staake's account which they use to operate their flag carving business, Your American Flag Store. The hold began after Newsmax interviewed James Staake and he discussed the Big Tech censorship his store had experienced. According to a letter Staake's lawyer sent to PayPal, the entrepreneur said that Facebook revoked his “advertising privileges,” and that Shopify "de-listed and deleted" several of his products. The day after the interview, PayPal placed a six month hold on Your American Flag Store's account. Staake negotiated a release of nearly all of his store's funds accrued prior to the hold. However, PayPal refused to consider releasing any new funds until August. The letter is unclear on whether PayPal eventually offered an explanation for the hold but in the letter, Staake's lawyer argues that the company never broke PayPal's user agreement, nor did it meet the qualifications of a "reserve hold."
