TikTok deletes content about the 2020 election : Online personality Ian Carroll shared to his X account a video deleted by TikTok. According to screenshots that he shared on X, TikTok originally claimed a violation of "Civic and Election Integrity" as the basis for removing his video. The platform later changed its reasoning to "misinformation" following Carroll's attempt to appeal the decision. TikTok claimed that it does "not allow inaccurate, misleading, or false content..." after first claiming that it does "not allow misinformation about civic and electoral processes, regardless of intent." Carroll claimed in an X post, "This is how they control the 'truth.'"
