Alternative social networking platform Gab rejected by a Christian credit union: Twitter alternative Gab has been beset by problems lately. It was previously reported that in searching for a new bank, the company that is run by outspoken Christian Andrew Torba, was rejected by multiple banks. Torba reported that one bank even told him that it would not work with the company because of "all the bad things the press has written about Gab." The platform is known as a true free speech network, and most Liberal media have not taken kindly to it as a result. However, Torba recently reported that he thought he had found the right fit in Evangelical Christian Credit Union (ECCU). According to his Twitter thread on the situation, he was up front with the credit union about the company's situation, and ECCU was "happy to work with a Christian man who was being shut out by the secular world." However, after opening the account and making a large initial deposit, Torba reported that he received a notice that the account was closed, "[a]s you requested." Torba insists that he never requested the account be closed, and that, "If I had to guess, the bank was pressured by Operation Chokepoint. If that was the case they should have simply told me so versus handling it the way they did."
