Frontline Covid-19 Critical Care

YouTube suspends webinar criticizing WHO's dismissal of Ivermectin: YouTube removed a webinar posted by the Frontline Covid-19 Critical Care Alliance (FLCCC), an organization known for touting the drug Ivermectin as a treatment for Covid-19. The platform took down an FLCCC webinar, featuring Dr. Pierre Kory, entitled "The WHO's Denial of Ivermectin: Big Science, Disinformation and their Impacts on Human Rights." Although YouTube made the video "unavailable" as early as April 22, the day after the organization posted the video, the platform waited five days to notify FLCCC of its complete removal. This is not the first time YouTube has censored Dr. Pierre Kory, president of the organization and one of the featured doctors in the webinar video. In February, the Wall Street Journal reported that YouTube removed videos of his Senate hearing testimony where he presented research on the efficacy of Ivermectin as a Covid-19 treatment. According to YouTube's COVID-19 medical misinformation policy, "content that recommends use of Ivermectin or Hydroxychloroquine for the treatment of COVID-19" is in violation of the platform's community guidelines. Creators of such content run the risk of having their work deleted, and could possibly receive a strike. "If you get 3 strikes, your channel will be terminated," the policy concludes.
