Instagram removed footage from the night of the Kyle Rittenhouse incident: Eighteen-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse was charged with first-degree murder after he killed two men and injured another purportedly in self-defense during one of the 2020 Antifa riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin. A user posted a video that included some of the footage from the night of the Kyle Rittenhouse incident with the caption "This is the video of what happened with Kyle Rittenhouse and the FBI suppressed it. #KyleRittenhouse #FBI #conservatives," according to a screenshot tweeted by the user. Instagram removed the video because it allegedly "[went] against [its] Community Guidelines on violence or dangerous organizations." The platform clarified further that it removes "photos or videos of extreme graphic violence," "[p]hotos or videos that encourage violence or attacks on anyone based on their religious, ethnic or sexual background" or "[s]specific threats of physical harm, theft, vandalism or financial harm." It is unclear how the video might have fallen into any of the three categories of removable content.
