Facebook censors user for a political cartoon about socialism: A Twitter user shared a screenshot of his Facebook censorship notice. He had posted a political cartoon showing a guy trying to stick a giant fork labeled "Socialism" into an electric socket labeled "The Economy." His friend says "Everyone else who tried this has gotten hurt," and he replies "Everyone else did it the wrong way." According to the screenshot, Facebook found it to violate one of its Community Standards and deleted the post. The user stated that he was "permanently banned" after "posting this on Facebook a third time," saying that Facebook claimed he was "encouraging people to self hurt themselves." This political cartoon was obviously not about suicide or self-injury, but Facebook's AI algorithm can't understand humor, satire, context, metaphors or nuance. The user's permanent ban was unable to be confirmed.
