Facebook blocked ads on Dave Rubin's book tour promo as a violation of its "Social Issues, Elections, or Politics" ads policy: Dave Rubin, author and host of The Blaze podcast Rubin Report, posted a promotional video for his upcoming book "Don't Burn this Country." The video announced the locations and guests of his book tour which included political figures such as Donald Trump Jr., Turning Point USA founder and Free Speech America Advisory Board Member Charlie Kirk, PragerU Founder Dennis Prager and others. Rubin made one remote reference to politics in his description of what the experience of the tour would be like for attendees. "It'll be heartfelt. It'll be deep. It'll be political. It'll be apolitical. It'll be a little bit of everything." Facebook did not let him pay to boost video in news feeds because it allegedly didn't "comply with [Facebook's] Ads About Social Issues, Elections or Politics policy," according to a screenshot he posted on both Twitter and Facebook. The ad did not discuss political ideas so it's unclear why the ad was blocked from Facebook paid post boosting.
