Instagram blocks users from tagging respected health science group Cochrane for repeated COVID-19 "false content" violations: Cochrane is a UK-based international network network that "gathers and summarizes the best evidence from research to help [people] make informed choices about treatment." According to its web site, it does not use "commercial or conflicted funding" in order to provide the best library of authoritative and reliable evidence-based health research. It has been in business as a non-profit for 28 years. According to a screenshot provided by the organization, Instagram recently prevented users from tagging it in posts using its @cochraneorg handle. The screenshot indicated that this was because Instagram claimed it had "repeatedly posted content that goes against [its] Community Guidelines on false content about COVID-19 or vaccines." Cochrane said on Twitter that Instagram "got this one wrong!" In a post on Instagram about it, the group said that it is "all for creating a safe and evidence-based platform but sometimes automation/artificial intelligence can get it wrong and policies can be used to block the wrong people."
