All aboard the censorship train! Today’s destinations: YouTube and Eventbrite.

On this week’s episode of CensorTrack with Paiten, we looked at YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki’s attempt to portray her platform as a haven for free speech. We also examined Eventbrite’s censorship of a Daily Wire documentary watch party.

During an interview with Indonesian journalist Najwa Shihab, YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki tried to frame YouTube as a pro-free speech platform.

“In general, we want to be enabling, we want to enable people to express their points of view and enable as much free speech as we possibly can have,” Wojcicki said.

There’s only one small problem with her comments. YouTube censors content. A lot of it.

The platform specifically targeted content during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and in the aftermath of the 2020 U.S. presidential election, as recorded by MRC Free Speech America in its exclusive CensorTrack database.

YouTube is not the only platform to censor those who don’t parrot the left’s narrative, however.

Event management and ticketing site Eventbrite joined the ranks of platforms that censor free speech.

The platform removed a Turning Point USA event for violating the platform’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.

The Western Kentucky University chapter of Turning Point USA hosted a watch party for the Daily Wire documentary “What is a Woman?”

Eventbrite removed the event. The platform claimed it does not permit “events, content or creators that promote or encourage hate, violence, or harassment towards others and/or oneself," according to screenshots shared by a TPUSA representative.

This is yet another example of Big Tech attempting to shut down conservative voices.

Apparently, YouTube and Eventbrite don’t tolerate viewpoints that counter the left’s narrative.
