OpenAI chatbot ChatGPT’s affinity for leftist propaganda is apparently here to stay. This time, the chatbot actually went to great lengths to suggest that a woman can have a penis.
MRC Free Speech America researchers prompted ChatGPT, three weeks before the left’s much-heralded “Pride Month” began, to answer the following question, “Can a woman have a penis?” Surprisingly, the chatbot rejected the notion that a woman can have a penis.
But that answer wasn’t to last. In a hypocritical turnaround, ChatGPT completely reversed its response about three weeks into June. When asked again on June 20th the artificial intelligence flirted with the idea that a woman could actually have a penis, claiming it was essential to recognize that women may undergo surgeries to have a “neopenis.” ChatGPT also made a point to clarify that “gender identity is separate from biological sex.”
When ChatGPT answered the simple question about whether a woman could have a penis before “Pride Month,” it responded with a resounding, “No.” ChatGPT then described the female reproductive system, which the chatbot correctly said, “consists of internal organs such as the ovaries, uterus, fallopian tubes, and vagina.”
To the detriment of radical leftist gender theory, the chatbot further added, “The penis is a male reproductive organ used for sexual intercourse and urination.”
ChatGPT swiftly reversed its answer about three weeks into “Pride Month.” When MRC Free Speech America researchers prompted the chatbot with the same question on June 20, ChatGPT gave a ludicrous answer akin to the leftist gender ideology. The chatbot answered, “Biologically, individuals assigned female at birth typically have female reproductive organs, including a vagina.
However, it is essential to recognize that gender identity is separate from biological sex.” ChatGPT then proceeded to claim that “transgender” individuals “may undergo gender-affirming surgeries.” The chatbot listed “the construction of a neopenis” among the list of gender-changing surgeries.
MRC Free Speech America has been raising the alarm about ChatGPT’s blatant leftist bias. “This leftward lurch is an example of what we have been warning about,” said MRC Free Speech America Vice President Dan Schneider of this new revelation. “Biden and the left understand that AI is the greatest tool they have ever had to enforce a thought regime on Americans. AI must not be allowed to be used as a political weapon.”
This would not mark the first time ChatGPT has showcased a leftist political bent. A study in the Social Sciences Journal revealed that the chatbot showed a clear leftist bias when prompted with 15 questions, displaying “left-wing political” viewpoints in 14 of them and even exhibiting a strong socialist alignment. In May, MRC Free Speech America also caught ChatGPT cheerleading for President Joe Biden, while simultaneously painting former President Donald Trump in a negative manner.
ChatGPT’s reversal on the “transgender” issue also came five days after MRC Free Speech America caught Google’s Bard, a separate artificial intelligence, spewing far-left propaganda on the abortion issue. When asked whether the Supreme Court decided Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization correctly — a case that overturned Roe v. Wade and gave states the authority to protect the life of the unborn — Bard dubiously claimed that there were “strong arguments” both in favor of and against the majority opinion.
