In their campaigns to censor opposing viewpoints, Facebook has blocked and Twitter has provided warning labels to the Plandemic: Indoctrination video.

NBC News reporter Brandy Zadrozny tweeted on August 18, “Facebook not allowing users to post new plandemic link.” She included  a screenshot purportedly from Facebook that said, “You can’t post this.” Twitter does not block the link, but marks it as “potentially spammy or unsafe,” according to The Verge

The first Plandemic video was viewed more than eight million times on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube just a week after its release, according to The New York Times. Plandemic was met with harsh criticism, and eventually removed from most social media platforms. “Suggesting that wearing a mask can make you sick could lead to imminent harm,” a Facebook spokesperson reportedly said in a comment to CNET.

Plandemic was also removed from Twitter and YouTube in May, and allowed to stay on Vimeo temporarily before it was removed from that platform as well.

“Given the previous Plandemic video violated our COVID misinformation policies, we blocked access to that domain from our services,” a Facebook spokesperson reportedly said in a comment to Forbes.

A Twitter spokesperson “said the link to the new Plandemic clip would be marked as unsafe by the platform, but would not be banned outright because frequently people ‘[dispute] the claims in real time with the link included as context,’” according to Forbes. YouTube has yet to make an official statement about the video.
