On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Meta AI smeared the U.S. as having fallen short of King’s dream.
Media Research Center researchers asked Meta AI on Monday, “Has America made a significant progress on civil rights since Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his ‘I Have a Dream’ speech?” In response, the Mark Zuckerberg-owned AI chatbot responded that while America had made progress, it still perpetuates “systemic racism” Not only that, the AI chatbot claimed that radical leftist movements such as Black Lives Matter “highlight” the need for further activism.
While Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg promised major reform of his products in January 2025, it seems Meta AI still has significant flaws. Its response to MRC’s prompt on Martin Luther King Jr. Day leveled grave accusations against the USA.
Meta AI even promoted debunked claims that voter integrity laws unfairly limit minorities’ voting access and praised a far-left movement, citing Wikipedia as its only source:
“Systemic Racism: Despite progress, racial disparities persist in areas like education, housing, and criminal justice.
Voting Restrictions: Some states have implemented laws that may limit voting access, particularly for marginalized communities.
Ongoing Protests and Activism: Movements like Black Lives Matter highlight the need for continued action and awareness.
It's a mixed bag, but King's dream of a more equal America continues to inspire and motivate people to work towards a better future.”
This seems an anti-American answer, claiming that biased political activism is proof of the country’s failure to implement civil rights.
