President Donald Trump, in promoting his administration’s achievements, specifically highlighted free speech, which has been a priority since he took office.

Trump contrasted his success with the Biden administration’s failures while speaking to the press in Scotland on Monday. “All they did was censor,” Trump accused, referring to the previous president’s policies. He attributed Democrats’ low popularity and lack of confidence among voters to their policies and attacks on free speech.

America is coming back from a problematic state, the president told reporters. Trump stated, “One year ago, we …had a dead country. We had a president who didn't know where the hell he was. We had horrible, horrible people running our country. I think they were sick people, actually, sick.” Then he turned to free speech threats.

“You talk about censorship,” Trump emphasized, “that's all they did was censor.” The president added, “they didn't know what to do, and they had high taxes. They wanted more taxes, total censorship, transgenderism for everybody, men playing in women's sports, everything bad they wanted. And they still do.”

He went on to refer to Democrats’ plummeting approval ratings. “I saw it today, the lowest that the other part of the Democrats have ever been.”

One poll by the Wall Street Journal even found that 63 percent of voters have an unfavorable view of the Democratic Party. This is reportedly the highest disapproval rating for in a WSJ poll dating to 1990, and it dwarfs the 33 percent who currently have a favorable view of the party. Only eight percent view Democrats “very favorably,” while 19 percent say the same of Republicans.

Trump made these comments critical of the American censorship regime in the UK, where the government has just taken another step toward Orwellian total censorship tyranny, introducing specialized law enforcement — the National Internet Intelligence Investigations team — to search online platforms for anti-mass-migration opinions. The UK already uses its Online Safety Act to target and arrest citizens for exercising free speech.
