A new bombshell from the House Judiciary Committee exposed the FBI’s extreme effort to promote censorship of the Hunter Biden scandal and manipulate the 2020 election.
On April 1, House Judiciary announced on X that it had obtained internal FBI chat logs. These showed that the agency had imposed a gag order on employees related to the New York Post Hunter Biden scandal ahead of the 2020 election. One employee who tried to confirm the story was reportedly silenced. This deception on the part of the FBI promoted Big Tech censorship of the exposé and ended up swinging the election in Joe Biden‘s favor, as a 2020 MRC survey showed.
The documents obtained by the committee apparently show a lighthearted conversation about “the laptop” and “our NY Post matter” the day the exposé was released between FBI agents whose names are largely redacted. During that conversation, one agent said, “please do not discuss biden matter [sic].” Another agent responded by reassuring the speaker. In another chat, an FBI agent explained further, “nobody on call is authorized to comment upon NY Post story.” In an apparently amused reply, an agent chimed in, “gotta love it.”
As the House Judiciary emphasized, the laptop had been in FBI possession for about a year, and yet the agency indicated to Big Tech the scandal was a hoax.
In fact, the FBI had already conducted a “months-long campaign to ‘pre-bunk’ the New York Post story on the Biden family’s corruption ahead of the 2020 election,” the House Judiciary noted in its X post thread. “The FBI’s campaign to discredit the Post story continued even after it was published on October 14, 2020. That morning, one FBI analyst tried to tell Twitter that the laptop was real—until his bosses shut him up.”
The FBI’s public relations strategy is consistent with that revealed in comments from Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) in a March 25 Constitution subcommittee hearing during which he said that in 2020, the FBI sought to warn senators concerning an impending exposé about the family member of a presidential candidate. According to Lee, the FBI would not explain who the exposé would be about but it assured senators that the information was untrue.
The significant evidence above illustrates even further the severity of the FBI-Big Tech 2020 election censorship. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg admitted on Joe Rogan’s popular podcast in 2022 that his company had censored the Hunter Biden story after FBI pressure and pre-bunking preparation. The Twitter Files revealed that the FBI similarly primed Twitter executives like Trust and Safety chief Yoel Roth.
This censorship campaign interfered with the results of the 2020 presidential election. A 2020 MRC survey found that the FBI, Big Tech and the legacy media suppressed the Hunter Biden scandal so aggressively that 9.4% of Joe Biden’s voters said that, had they been aware of the story, they would have abandoned him. That small shift would have swung the election in favor of Donald Trump. The laptop scandal has been subsequently verified and considered legitimate rather than a Russian hoax even by the leftist New York Times.
