Republican members of the House Judiciary Committee are supporting a state lawsuit against the Biden regime’s censorship efforts.
“Republicans on the House Judiciary’s Subcommittee on Government Weaponization filed an amicus brief late Monday night in the case of Missouri v. Biden,” Fox News reported on Tuesday. The lawsuit, led by Andrew Bailey and Jeff Landry, the Missouri and Louisiana attorneys general, has uncovered a “vast censorship regime” allegedly orchestrated by the Biden administration to censor speech online. The new amicus brief follows ongoing revelations from the House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) on government pressure for Facebook to censor.
Jordan, who is responsible for the recent release of four installments of The Facebook Files, explained Republicans’ support of the state lawsuit to Fox News Digital. Facebook Files revelations were reportedly included in the amicus brief.
“The extensive investigation of the House Judiciary Committee and the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government has uncovered smoking gun documents showing how Big Tech and Big Government worked together to stifle free speech online,” Jordan said.
He continued, “We know through the Facebook Files that the Biden Administration directed Big Tech companies to censor speech the government disagreed with, and launched a pressure campaign when companies did not comply with these censorship orders quickly enough.”
The court filing reportedly cited a Facebook executive explaining that the platform censored the COVID-19 lab leak theory under pressure from the Biden administration.
Another signee of the brief, House GOP Conference Chair Elise Stefanik (R-NY), said, per Fox, “I am proud to join this amicus brief to protect Americans' First Amendment rights and stand up to the Biden Administration’s continued unconstitutional weaponization of the federal government against their political opponents.”
America First Legal, which has also uncovered evidence of Biden White House censorship activities, is representing the Republicans, Fox reported. The Missouri v. Biden lawsuit cited exclusive research from MRC Free Speech America using our exclusive CensorTrack.org database.
